Saarathi has built up an excellent rapport with Media, different Commissions, Corporations, Policy making bodies, NGO sector etc, and today Saarathi has a commanding voice in media sector. We had initiated Public Interest Litigation against a TV serial as a result of which, the director changed his story line & approach. We took up this issue seriously because of the adverse effect of that serial on the viewers.  As a responsible communication Resource Centre, we take up the influence of television serials on the viewers seriously.

In this context, I can quote one of my television documentary series, which I have directed for ETV Kannada Channel. “Janaki “is about unnatural deaths of newly married women in Karnataka”. In these particular 15 episodes, I have dwelt upon 19 families from different socio-cultural, political and economic background. Though the 30 minutes program dealt with socio-legal issues, it also questioned the exisisting legal system and its failure in understanding need for holistic approach in domestic violence, dowry laws, marriage laws and Criminal Procedural Code, law-enforcing machinery etc. This program was popular and has helped many families and individuals to overcome their depression, suicidal tendency etc. Impact of this program was very extensive and a systematic study had been conducted by Vimochana, a leading women’s Organisation in Bangalore. My print documentation also reflects on similar instances.

Our organization is well established among mass media activities and our approach to issues is deeply focused. We always target an ordinary, deprived person and try to educate him/her. Our technical crew group is also equally sensitive to issues and our work culture is like any other publication house or TV and Radio Channels. Reaching the masses effectively is our motto and we had some significant successes in a very short span of time.
